Munroe Island, the best of the list came at the end. This is an island near to Kollam in the Ashtamudi lake of Kerala. It is the best place for camping along the picturesque lake. We got in contact with Munroe Eco Camp, a tourist operator on the island. The best of reaching is by train. One can get trains to Munroturuttu Railway Station from any major station in Kerala. It took about 2 hours for us to get to Munroturuttu from Trivandrum station. From there we were taken on a boat to another mini-island along Munroe on which the Eco camp was present. It was good with tents around and awesome environment. A flock of turkeys welcomed us, there were rabbits, hens, ducks and many domestic animals around the farm. The first monsoon shower of the country was experienced by us along the lake. It was an indescribable experience with a perfect blend of nature and atmosphere. We stayed for the night in the tents and the early mornings in the farm was awesome with hens and turkeys waking us up. Had breakfast and spent time with games and volleyball. We went on kayaking into the lake and swam in the pools available. The great experience came to a end with a huge downpour on our way to Trivandrum on train.
It costed about 1200 per person for the complete trip.
